I offer personalized coaching/advising/mentoring services to help folks on their triathlon Journey. I don’t think of myself as someone who tells folks what to do but as a sounding board or advisor.
I personalize my engagement to the athlete's needs. I can provide a range of services but sometimes it is simply about having someone to talk things through regularly who can help with providing accountability and personalized guidance when often often families and friends are tired of hearing about your nagging pains or training issues. It is your journey. I am here to help as you need it.
I work with athletes who are first timer triathletes, athletes who may not be sure they can do this, athletes that are moving up in distance (such as Ironman), athletes who have limited time (folks who work fulltime, parents), athletes who have struggles. While I focus on triathlons , I am open to working with anyone who might want endurance coaching support no matter where they are in their journey even if that is just single sport (swim, bike or run) .
I focus on the athletes goals whether it is your first triathlon or you have some special goals in mind. I live in the Bay Area of California. I have done Escape form Alcatraz and Ironman California and can help prepare for those races. I work with athletes remotely or in person if local. I am happy to work with athletes who are part of clubs but looking for some individualized advice.
I am an 80/20 endurance certified coach . I will advise athletes to think carefully about intensity balance as part of their journey. More info on 80/20 training philosophy and benefits
Typically engagement may include: reviewing your goals, planning the calendar, selecting races, reviewing or helping you select a training plan, helping with intensity/volume balance, equipment, adapting the plan as you progress, helping advice when challenges arise (injuries, life events), strength, nutrition, and race guidance. As part of being an 80/20 certified coach I have access to all of their training plans no matter if it is run, bike, swim, triathlon for all distances you can think of that can be used as starting points.
I have occasional calls with athletes and monitor progress with emails, text and tools like training peaks which shares workout data.
As far as fees, triathlon's are expensive as it is, and I don't do this to make money. It is something I do because I enjoy it and want to help folks hence don't charge for most basic advisory engagements at this time.
If interested please go to our contact page, describe your situation and I will reach out.
